Summary
This post shows you how to time a break by setting a personal alarm or displaying a countdown for a group.
A break timer can:
- Remind you to return to work without watching the clock.
- Give a class or meeting a shared deadline, including people joining online.
Choose one timer setup:
- Option A: PowerPoint break slide. Add Timer for PowerPoint, enter the duration, and place a return time beside it, such as "Back at 10:45." Enable optional sound alerts and start the countdown in Slide Show.
- Option B: Free browser countdown. Enter your break duration in Online-Stopwatch's Bar Timer, then select Set and Start. Display the remaining time to the group.
- Option C: Personal reminder. Enter the break duration in Mac Clock or Windows Clock, choose an alert, and start the countdown.
For online attendees, share your chosen timer window in Teams. For repeated work-and-break cycles, use a Pomodoro timer.
