Web Viewer 2.0 lets you embed a live spinning wheel in PowerPoint. Click the wheel and show its result on the slide, without switching to a browser tab. Use it for classroom games, discussion topics, or choosing the next team activity.
This walkthrough uses Wheel of Names in PowerPoint for the web, with the website's built-in sample names.
Before you start
- Open a presentation with Web Viewer 2.0 already inserted on the slide.
- Resize Web Viewer to fill the slide, with its edges aligned to the slide's edges.
- Keep an internet connection available while presenting.

Have your wheel's HTTPS link ready. Use
https://wheelofnames.com/for a quick test, or a shared link for a wheel you have prepared.
Load the wheel on your slide
- Click the www button at the top left of the viewer. Its tooltip is Loads a web page from a URL.
- Paste the wheel link into URL (1), then click Load (2).
Spin the wheel during Slide Show
- Once the wheel loads, click Present in PowerPoint.
- Click the wheel itself to spin it. Wait for the winner to appear.
- Click Close on the result to return to the wheel without removing that entry.
Use your own wheel
For a prepared activity, use a shared wheel link instead of the home page. Wheel of Names documents how to share a wheel with its entries and appearance. Load that link in Web Viewer using the same steps above.
Web Viewer saves the website URL in your presentation, not a copy of the wheel's data. A shared Wheel of Names link represents a snapshot: if you change the original wheel, generate an updated shared link and load that link in your slide.

Can I use Wheel of Names in PowerPoint presentation mode?
Yes. With Web Viewer 2.0, we loaded Wheel of Names, spun the wheel, and displayed its winner in PowerPoint for the web in Chrome. Rehearse in the Office app, browser, and network you will use for the session. This walkthrough does not verify the desktop PowerPoint experience.
Can I embed a different spinner website in PowerPoint?
Web Viewer accepts HTTPS website links, but the website must allow embedded viewing. Check your chosen wheel before the event. See why some websites cannot load in Web Viewer.
Is a spinning wheel the same as a PowerPoint animation?
No. This approach loads an interactive website. A screenshot or prerecorded spin can show a wheel, but it cannot make a fresh selection when you click it.
Can my school or organization use Web Viewer?
See Web Viewer plans and licensing. If your organization blocks Marketplace, an administrator can deploy the add-in through Microsoft 365 admin center. Follow your organization's privacy rules before entering student or participant data into a third-party website.

Run one practice spin in Slide Show on the presentation computer. Check the wheel's entries, size, sound, and any website prompts. Keep a link to the wheel available as a backup. For help with a specific site, contact support.
