A hyperlink makes text, an image, or a shape clickable during Slide Show. It can open a website or jump to another slide.
Insert a hyperlink to a website
- Select the text, image, or shape you want to make clickable.
- Click Insert > Link, or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on Mac).
- Paste the full web address, including
https://, and confirm.
Link to another slide
In the same dialog, choose Place in This Document (This Document on Mac) and pick a slide. Use slide links to build menus, agendas, and quizzes.
Why a hyperlink isn't working
- You're in Normal view. Links are clickable in Slide Show and Reading View. In Normal view, press Ctrl and click the link.
- The address is incomplete. Include
https://. - Another object covers the link. Open Home > Arrange > Selection Pane to find and move it.
Show the website on the slide instead
A hyperlink sends your audience to a separate browser window. To keep the live website on the slide, use Web Viewer 2.0. See how to embed a website in PowerPoint.
