CAD Viewer for SharePoint lets you open CAD files in SharePoint and export the current viewer output as a PDF.
Step 1: Download CAD Viewer for SharePoint
If you do not already have it, get CAD Viewer for SharePoint from Microsoft AppSource.
Step 2: Open your file with CAD Viewer
In your SharePoint document library, select a supported CAD file and click View CAD.
- 2D CAD: DWG, DXF
- 3D CAD: STEP, STP, IGES, IGS, BREP
- 3D mesh: STL, OBJ, 3DS, FBX, glTF, GLB, 3MF, PLY, DAE, OFF, WRL, 3DM, AMF
Step 3: Click Export PDF and choose your destination
Inside CAD Viewer, click Export PDF. You can save the PDF to the current SharePoint folder, a different SharePoint folder, or download it to your computer.
What gets exported?
The PDF export captures the current visible view as a single-page PDF. If you zoom, pan, orbit, change layers, or switch display options before exporting, the PDF reflects what is currently shown in the viewer.
