This policy explains what Map Viewer 365 for SharePoint collects, why we use it, and how we protect it.
SharePoint provides your work email address. We use it to identify your account, apply usage limits, verify license access, and provide support.
We store:
Organization administrators can provide work email addresses to assign licenses. We store those addresses with the license assignments.
Your browser reads the selected KML or KMZ file directly from SharePoint and renders its map features locally. When you create an export, your browser downloads it to your device or saves it directly to SharePoint. The source file and generated export do not pass through or remain on our servers.
Your browser requests map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap or Esri, depending on the background you select. Each provider receives standard web-request data, including your IP address, browser information, and the requested tile paths. The tile paths identify the map area and zoom level shown in your browser.
If a KML or KMZ file references a remote icon or image, your browser requests that resource directly from its host. The host receives the same standard request data and the requested resource path. These providers do not receive the full KML or KMZ file from the add-in.

SharePoint controls access to source files and saved exports. We send account, licensing, usage, and diagnostic data over encrypted HTTPS connections. Google Cloud encrypts stored data, and Firestore security rules prevent public access.
We limit access to our Google Cloud and Sentry projects to authorized personnel who need the data to operate the product, respond to support requests, or comply with legal obligations.
